Mariah Melanie Make-up

Mariah Melanie is a full time commercial/editorial Makeup Artist based in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  Her positive attitude, communication skills, and minimalistic approach to lifestyle beauty have made her an undeniable asset to the field for over six years.

Mariah was born in Maui, but was raised in California, with a fascination for people and a natural flair for art.  While earning her BA in Psychology at UC Santa Cruz, she also continued to grow as a scuptor and painter in her studio art classes.  It was back in Hawai'i, however, where an unexpected twist of fate fused Mariah’s two seemingly dissimilar passions into one.  This was during her service as a Youth Counselor in an emergency shelter for underprivileged teens.

In the shelter, Mariah found herself whisking hours away with the down-hearted girls, using makeup to recreate looks from the girls’ fashion magazines.  Their confident smiles that sprouted with each brushstroke gave Mariah a new sense of purpose.  She realized then, that she wanted to utilize her artistic skill to benefit others in this way.  Manifesting self empowerment is her ultimate goal.

Mariah began her professional training at Bella Torre Academy, where she was awarded her Make-up Designory (MUD) Certification.  Later she continued further training in Los Angeles for on-set HAIRSTYLING at MUD.  Also available for Manicurist Service (credits include Saks Fifth Ave, Roxy, W Magazine & Vogue).

Mariah is personable, reliable, naturally detail-oriented, and technically-trained for High Definition.  Her specialties include waterproof makeup application and the natural “no makeup, makeup look.”  Her clients include:  Nike, Gatorade; Under Armour; Billabong; O'Neill; Sears; Crazy Shirts; Tori Richard; Hyatt Regency Waikiki; Ritz Carlton Waikiki; Ala Moana Magazine; Modern Luxury Hawaii Magazine; CBS Watch Magazine; Pottery Barn Teen; Hawaiian Airlines;  Musicians such as Raiatea, Kimie Miner and Taimane;  Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard;  along with celebrities such as Wilmer Valderrama, Shemar Moore, Alex O'loughlin and Oscar-winning A-list celebrity Marcia Gay Harden.
